Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar to undergo further treatment, leaves for US by special flight from Mumbai
Panaji: Ailing Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar left for the US on Tuesday night for further treatment from Mumbai where he was admitted at Lilavati Hospital. Parrikar left for the US for his further treatment by a special flight from Mumbai airport a senior official of the chief minister office told PTI. The chief minister left for the US in Air India flight at around 1.30 am. He is accompanied by a doctor and his elder son Utpal a senior official from CMO said. Parrikar was admitted at the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on 15 February and discharged on 22 February. On the same day he returned to Goa and presented the Budget in the Assembly but the session was truncated to only four days owing to his illness. He was later admitted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital after he suffered from dehydration. Before leaving for Mumbai on Tuesday Parrikar held a series of meetings including one with senior state ministers. Earlier in the day Goa BJP general secretary Sadanand Tanawade said that Parrikar will fly to the US for further treatment. NEW DELHI: Nagaland chief minister TR Zeliang on Tuesday resigned from his post ending speculation that the state was heading toward a constitutional crisis. Governor PB Acharya accepted the http://serebryaniy-bereg.ru/user/afplayer/ resignation but requested that he continue in office till alternative arrangements were made reported ANI. Acharya appointed Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) leader Neiphiu Rio the chief minister of Nagaland under clause (1) of Article 164 of the Constitution of India reported ANI. Rio must prove his majority on the floor of the House on or before March 16 2018. NEW DELHI: Nagaland chief minister TR Zeliang on Tuesday resigned from his post ending speculation that the state was heading toward a constitutional crisis. Governor PB Acharya accepted the http://serebryaniy-bereg.ru/user/afplayer/ resignation but requested that he continue in office till alternative arrangements were made reported ANI. Acharya appointed Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) leader Neiphiu Rio the chief minister of Nagaland under clause (1) of Article 164 of the Constitution of India reported ANI. Rio must prove his majority on the floor of the House on or before March 16 2018. After resigning Zeliang told reporters that his party the Naga People s Front (NPF) would play the role of a constructive opposition in the Assembly for the welfare of the state reported PTI. His party the NPF had yesterday justified Zeliang s refusal to quit office saying its effort to form the next government was still on. Efforts are on to cobble up the requisite numbers to form government. So the question of Zeliang resigning at this juncture does not arise an NPF statement had said. Technically before a new chief minister is sworn in the incumbent CM can continue as the caretaker. Both Zeliang and Rio staked claim to form the government in the state and were given two days by Governor Acharya to submit the signatures of the MLAs supporting them. As the constitutional head my duty is to see who has the majority and call him to form the new government. Whoever brings the signatures of more than 30 elected members I will accept Acharya had said. The polls in Nagaland delivered a hung mandate with the ruling NPF winning 26 seats of the 60 seats in the Assembly the BJP 12 the NDPP 18 the National People s Party (NPP) two and the JD(U) and and Independent one each.
